Baked Stuffed Apples

The warmth of cinnamon brings out the tartness of Granny Smith green apples, while nutmeg offers a hint of something warm and exotic. The combination of flavours just evokes memories of Christmas celebrations – yes, even in humid climates of Malaysia and Singapore!

This recipe uses KENWOOD Titanium with Chopper attachment.


 4 Granny Smith Apples
 1 tbsp Himalayan rock salt
 50 g brown sugar
 20 g dried apricots
 20 g raisins
 20 g walnuts
 20 g almond slivers
 20 g ready-to-eat chestnuts
 1 tsp cinnamon powder
 1 tsp nutmeg powder
 150 g brown sugar
 80 g butter
 80 ml water



Core and peel the apples.


Mix together all other ingredients and stuff the apples. Place on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.


Make the basting syrup by bringing white sugar, butter and water to the boil with the vanilla. Pour over the apples before baking.


Bake apples in a preheated oven at 150oC for around 20 minutes, occasionally basting the apples with the juices from the tray. Serve hot together with eggnog ice cream or vanilla ice cream.
