Not all pasta recipes are made equal, but this viral TikTok-inspired recipe comes pretty close to perfection. Here’s our spin on how you can recreate the Tiktok Baked Feta Pastadish for an easy midweek dinner that hits the spot, especially after a long day.

What’s this pasta dish all about?

Popular on TikTok, this baked pasta dish originated from Finland – not Italy, surprisingly! – and features just six must-have ingredients. It takes just under an hour to throw together, and we find smashing the cheese and tomatoes near the end really good for de-stressing, too!

Finding it hard to perfect it? Read our article on how to bring this dish to the next level!

Ingredients

 1 kg Cherry Tomatoes
1 block of Feta Cheese (about 200g)
4 cloves of Garlic (sliced in half)
 120 ml Olive Oil
 280 g Pasta of Choice
 Salt and Pepper to taste
Optional Seasonings
Fresh oregano, basil, or dried Italian herb mix
Chilli flakes or paprika for spice
  Lemon zest

Instructions

1

Preheat oven to 200ºC. While it's heating up, scatter the cherry tomatoes and garlic in an oven-proof baking pan, drizzle over most of the olive oil and sprinkle salt, pepper, herbs and spices. Toss gently to combine.

2

Make a well in the middle of the tomatoes and garlic for the block of feta cheese. Drizzle remaining olive oil on the cheese, and sprinkle with salt, pepper, herbs and spices.

3

Bake in oven for 40 to 45 minutes. The tomatoes should have burst and the top of the feta cheese should be golden brown when you remove the pan from the oven.

4

Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook pasta according to package instructions.

5

Drain cooked pasta, reserving about 120ml of the cooking water.

6

Smash the baked feta and tomatoes together with the back of a large spoon, and stir to create a sauce. It might look a little chunky and dry, but that’s ok.
